ITV Loose Women's Coleen Nolan under fire as viewer asks how she is on show after audience jibe

ITV Loose Women is known for its sometimes heated debates but it was an audience member who was on the end of a cutting remark on Monday (February 13). Panelist Coleen Nolan has now come under fire as some viewers were left asking "how" she is still allowed on the show.

It was the first episode of the week and Coleen joined regulars Kaye Adams and Janet Street-Porter to co-host the popular daytime show. As ITV viewers tuned in, it was soon made apparent that one of the panelists had the same top on as an audience member.

Kaye pointed out: “Coleen, you’re looking absolutely ravishing in that blouse.” To which Coleen replied: “Oh, there’s going to be a punchline.” Kaye joked “Well yes, because you’re not wearing it quite as well as Keira out there.”

Watching the show, Birmingham Live reported the events that followed. According to the publication, Kaye then ordered the woman in the audience to “stand up” - but as she stood up to show off her outfit, Coleen then joked: “No expense spared on this show, eh?”

She went on: “It looks nice, does it look as good on me as it does on her?” Kaye replied: “Erm, yeah - oh moving on.” Coleen fired back: “Oh, alright Kermit."

Viewers soon took to social media to share their thoughts on the awkward exchange. One person tweeted: "Coleen Nolan saying ‘no expense spared on this show’ in reference to a member of the audience wearing the same blouse as her… is it just me that finds that comment insulting? How is she still on this show #LooseWomen."

During the show, professional dancer Johannes Radebe made an appearance to discuss his upcoming tour. "Johannes is such a lovely person - and fabulous," said one Twitter user.

Appearing ahead of his Freedom Unleashed UK tour, Johannes reflected on how dancing with John Whaite had helped him personally, both when it came to his family and his approach to dancing. And another said: "I love Johannes. Saw his live show last year and was blown away. Had the chance to meet him too… A truly beautiful man."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1.
