ITV Loose Women's Brenda Edwards issues health update after being rushed to hospital

Loose Women's Brenda Edwards has has issued a health update after she was taken to hospital.

The panelist was forced to pull out of her scheduled performance in the musical adaptation of Chicago over the weekend when she slipped on wet pavement. Brenda shared a snap of her leg in a cast from hospital on Instagram and revealed she had broken her fibula.

The former X Factor star addressed her painful injury on today's edition of Loose Women. She said: "It was very quick and and over very quickly.

"I was on tour and we went out for a lovely Chinese meal and I slipped, fell and broke my fibula." Brenda revealed her leg was still in a cast and elevated under the desk during her appearance on the ITV programme.

However, she said she still hopes to be able to return to the stage to reprise her role as Mama Morton in Chicago. She said: "Even if they have got to wheel me on, I'm going to try my best. We're talking about it and we'll see."

Brenda was joined on the show by Charlene White, Denise Welch and Gloria Hunniford. News of the injury shocked Gloria as it has come so soon after the 82-year-old broke her socket. She joked: "We'll have to give up the drink, I think."
