ITV launches investigation after soap stars' alleged fight at TV Choice Awards

ITV has launched an investigation after one of its Emmerdale stars allegedly threatened to kill Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards.

According to reports, Asan N'jie, who joined the soap a year ago as Ellis Chapman, had to be hauled off Jamie Lomas by security twice and was thrown out of the Hilton Park Lane hotel.

It is alleged that the Emmerdale star, who had been nominated for Best Newcomer at the awards, threatened to stab the Hollyoaks actor.

Witnesses claimed he shouted at the 44-year-old: “Do you think you are a f*****g big man? I’m going to f*****g  kill you. I’m going to f*****g knife you.”

The Emmerdale star has been involved in a knife attack storyline in the soap.

Now ITV is carrying out an investigation nto his conduct after the allegations were reported by the Mirror.

A spokesman for ITV told the Mirror: "Obviously we will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course."

Asan N'jie is yet to break his silence over his involvement in the alleged scuffle.

He was reportedly seen throwing punches at former I'm A Celebrity campmate Jamie while celebrities such as Katherine Ryan ran out of the way.

A spokesman for ITV said: "We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at the TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale's cast."

Former I'm A Celebrity star Malique Thompson-Dwyer intervened to take his friend Jamie away from the situation.

He said: "I told him to relax. I told him 'This isn't that kinda party. It's the TV Choice Awards.'"

Emmerdale star Asan was reportedly escorted from the hotel by bodyguards 15 minutes after security intervened.
