ITV launch probe into Emmerdale's Asan N'jie's threats to kill Jamie Lomas at TV Choice Awards

ITV has launched an investigation after one of its young Emmerdale stars threatened to kill Jamie Lomas at last night's TV Choice Awards.

Asan N'jie, who joined the soap a year ago as Ellis Chapman, and was thrown out of the Hilton Park Lane hotel in the wake of the brawl.

Now the broadcaster is launching a probe into his conduct after Mirror Online broke the news.

A spokesman for ITV said: "We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at last night's TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale's cast.

"Obviously we will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course."

Asan N'jie is yet to break his silence over his involvement in the violent scuffle.

He was seen throwing punches at I'm A Celebrity campmate Jamie while celebrities such as Katherine Ryan ran out of the way of the brawl at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London's Mayfair district.

The fracas started when Asan made goading remarks at Kym Marsh's ex husband.

Malique Thompson-Dwyer intervened to take his friend Jamie away from the dramatic situation.

He told the Mirror: "I told him to relax. I told him 'This isn't that kinda party. It's the TV Choice Awards.'"

Emmerdale star Asan was escorted from the hotel by bodyguards, accompanied by his friend, 15 minutes after security intervened.

Jamie stayed until 2am drinking with Love Island's Amber Gill and Malique.
