ITV In For A Penny viewers shocked by 'utter filth' before watershed

ITV viewers were left howling tonight as they watched Stephen Mulhern’s In For A Penny.

Made famous as a segment on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, In For A Penny sees Stephen challenge members of the British public to turn their pennies into pounds.

The 43-year-old travels the length and breadth of the UK inviting the unsuspecting British public to take part in a host of hilarious and often silly games to win a cash prize.

But viewers were shocked by what Stephen could get away with saying and doing before watershed.

Many of his jokes were innuendos aimed at the public.

This included teasing Brits about the contents of their shopping trolley and lots of hilarious word play.

Taking to Twitter, fans said they were left in stitches by the jokes.

Natasha said: “Not sure how Stephen Mulhern gets away with some of the jokes but god I love him.”

Rob wrote: “Filth .. utter filth ... spoons and rock.”

Emmie said: “How does @StephenMulhern get away with some of the stuff he says before 8pm on a Saturday.”

George said: “We need a post-watershed version of #InForAPenny.”

Rebecca tweeted: “@StephenMulhern how do you get away with it?!? #overthekidsheads.”

In For A Penny continues next Saturday at 7.30pm.
