ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers turn on campmate before final accusing him of deliberately 'acting dumb'

Fans of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! have questioned whether one campmate has been deliberately playing up for the cameras. ITV viewers are beginning to wonder if Hollyoaks star Owen Warner is "acting dumb" in order to win public support.

The online debate coincides with Warner being announced the show's likely victor by bookies. Jill Scott and Mike Tindall also in the running to don the jungle crown come the final on Sunday, November 27.

Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote, "When he first entered the camp, he seemed really dim and innocent. But the more hungry he gets the more he seems to wise-up and has been making remarks that he previously wouldn't have.

"Does anyone else think this? I mean he is an actor and went to performing arts school from a young age." Another replied, "He could be - I often think that many dumb people on reality TV aren't as dumb as they seem."

Some viewers also picked up on Warner suddenly referring to Matt Hancock as "our health secretary" when he'd previously claimed to having no clue who he was, reports BirminghamLive. "It just seemed like a very out of place thing for him to say - especially when you go back to the first episodes and some of the silly stuff he was saying," claimed one audience member.

Others referenced Warner mispronouncing 'jetlag' as 'jet lack' yet using the word 'discombobulated' correctly. "Yes, he believed Chris Moyles when he said he was a pro dancer, but that's not being dumb that's being trusting, " added another. "Owen seems pretty intelligent to me."

"I work with lads around (Owen's) age and they don't know who Chris is either," said a third viewer. "They have the advantage of being able to Google someone though - I think people forget how many faux pas they would make if they were unable to Google something/someone."
