ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers complain as Ant McPartlin 'bellows' at Fatima Whitbread

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa viewers complained about the supposed behaviour of presenter Ant McPartlin on Monday night (May 8) as he and Declan Donnelly welcomed Fatima Whitbread to a Bushtucker Trial. The best friends explained to the former Olympian what she would have to do in order to win stars for camp.

To bring back the bacon for her and her fellow celebrity campmates, Fatima had to collect stars as the cage she was in sank further and further. The javelin thrower, who first appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! back in 2011, was suspended over a river and had to match nine keys, which were hanging around the cage, to nine padlocked stars, BirminghamLive reports.

As Fatima knuckled down and put everything into returning back to camp with nine stars, viewers took issue with Ant as he checked in with her numerous times to make sure she was alright. "Are you okay, Fatima?" he asked, as the former Olympian confirmed she was fine.

Fatima replied "Yeah" before Ant asked: "Yeah? Are you sure?"

On Twitter, fans suggested that Ant should have just left Fatima to it. "What's with all the questions," said Paul.

Fatima's first appearance on the show was nearly 12 years ago (ITV)

"Fatima's fighting for breath and Ant wants a chat!? #ImACeleb."

Jase tweeted: "The fact that Ant keeps shouting while Fatima is underwater… But what's the point? Surely she can't hear him?"

"You would just love to hear Ant and Dec bellowing questions at you when you're trying to concentrate and they want an answer!" another viewer wrote. "I know what my answer would be!!!"

Fatima was picked for the Deadly Depths trial shortly before Coronation Street star Andy Whyment and Made in Chelsea socialite Georgia "Toff" Toffolo were booted from camp. American supermodel Janice Dickinson also left the show after leaving a note for her fellow campmates, in which she said she had had an "extraordinary experience".
