ITV I'm A Celebrity staff 'in tears' over Olivia Attwood's early exit

Love Island star Olivia Attwood's early exit from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here left ITV staff 'in tears', according to one source. The star's brief stint in the jungle ended before it had really begun after the show's medical team flagged up test results that were a concern.

As Olivia was spotted heading back to the UK, a show spokesman said: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks. Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation." Adding: "She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show."

It appears that she has already left her mark on the team. The Mirror updated fans, saying: "Staff have been in floods of tears in Oz as they were so desperate to keep her and are devastated she’s gone." The insider, who was speaking to The Sun revealed: "They know she was the shining star of camp and it’s uncomfortable that fans are calling for her return."

The source added to The Sun: "She was their big female signing and there is a real gap in the camp now. They are in crisis talks over what to do with the camp now as it feels lacklustre."

Following her exit, Olivia's representatives released a statement on her behalf with her 1.9 Instagram followers. It began: "To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement. She dreamed of doing I'm A Celebrity for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would). However for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

The latest celebrities to join the jungle journey are MP and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock along with comedian Seann Walsh. Matt Hancock's appearance on the show is a move that has sparked outrage amongst some viewers and the public.
