ITV I'm A Celebrity's disappointed fans think they know why Bababtunde is exempt after trial disaster

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers have already made their feelings known about campmates being exempt from trials. Last week, fans of the ITV reality show complained after it was revealed that former health secretary Matt Hancock would be facing his first eating trial alongside Boy George.

When revealing the Bushtucker trial, and who had been voted to take part, hosting duo Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed Sue Cleaver was exempt, just after another trial saw Sue and two other campmates also excused from taking part. And it led to questions from I'm A Celeb viewers.

At the time, @phylsyl wrote: "Why was sue exempt for the eating trial.? The other day 3 were exempt..don't go in if your gonna be exempt from trials very unfair. #ImACeleb." @Jodielouisej posted: "How is Sue exempt from everything? Like surely you can’t go in the jungle and then dodge all the trials? Come on, Eileen! #ImACeleb."

This time, however, it was just Babatunde Aleshe who had been exempt from the latest trial, due to be screened during Wednesday night's installment of jungle action. It was revealed that Chris had received the most public votes, meaning he will undertake the next Bushtucker trial, Boiling Point.

The trial appeared to involve water and crocodiles and after he was also exempt from trial Tentacles of Terror - a trial that MP Matt Hancock faced which also included water - viewers think they have worked out why Babatunde has been given a free pass out of the trial.

@Nia_90x tweeted: "Ok so, it involves water. Can Baba not swim? #ImACeleb." @M3lanieJC asked: "Why are they exempt? I’m assuming Baba can’t swim maybe as it’s in water #ImACeleb." @B0ttinat0r posted: "Based on the trials he's been exempt from, I'm assuming Babatunde can't swim. #ImACeleb."

@FerventTsunami wrote: "Ahhh man I wanted to vote Babatunde for this. Maybe he doesn't know how to swim #ImACeleb." @Slay27304018 added: "#imaceleb Can babatunde not swim cus I rlly wanted to vote hik for this challenge."

It comes after he, Chris, and Boy George had a distortions time in the trial clearing area after they were chosen to take part in Angel of Agony. The trio being chosen meant that I'm A Celeb viewers had spared former health secretary Matt from his seventh consecutive outing.

During the trial, which saw Boy George, 61, chanting while navigating a box full of critters to find a star, the group stood in three different boxes where they were covered in creepy crawlies. As Culture Club star Boy George started the chain of collecting the star, he had to pass it on to Babatunde who struggled to get the star up a tunnel to Chris, who had to use a magnet to get it out and bag a meal for camp.

Ultimately, Chris, Boy George, and Babatunde couldn't hold their nerves and ultimately won just three out of the 11 available stars. Even Ant and Dec said afterward that it was "frustrating to watch" Back in the studio, Dec joked: "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what a performance. Three pathetic stars."

Ant added: "Yeah their names are George, Baba and Chris." Dec continued: "Baba was really upset with his performance. He's carried his disappointment back into the camp, he just needs to drop it", before Ant quipped: "He'll have no problem with dropping it, my friend. Wasn't he awful?"
