ITV Good Morning Britain viewers complain over 'infuriating' habit as Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley host

Good Morning Britain viewers were treated to a new presenting duo as a fresh week began. Those tuning into the ITV news programme on Monday (April 4) were greeted by Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway.

It came as a surprise to some viewers who were left questioning where usual host Susanna Reid was. The 51-year-old is usually seen on the show from Monday through to Thursday with the likes of Richard Madeley, Ben Shephard, Adil Ray and more recently Martin Lewis.

However, it is not unusual for Susanna to disappear from screens at this time of year as many ITV stars take the Easter holidays off. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be missing from This Morning for the next two weeks while Lorraine Kelly is being replaced by Ranvir Singh on her self-titled ITV show.

But it didn't take long for GMB viewers to point out an issue they had with Kate, 54, and Richard, 65, hosting together - and they said it is 'infuriating'. @hooray_k tweeted: "#GMB #GoodMorningBritain Tuned in to see Dr Hilary lovingly bleating about nine new symptoms of #Covid_19 then heard Kate & Richard talking over each other. Not great start to day."

"Gah Kate just keeps butting in and talking over people, Richard always does it too, so the pair together is infuriating #goodmorningbritain #gmb," @FlopsyPickle complained.

@TheBettingZone1 echoed: "A morning of them both talking over and through each other… #GMB."

"@GMB stop interrupting your guests when there talking for god's sake," @NigelLemon13 tweeted this morning.

@stevotapper shared: "@gmb Kate and Richard jostling for air time today. Talking over each other & seeing who can say the longest question that really isn't a question, stating the obvious, all to they hear their own voice. Great viewing."

Meanwhile, GMB viewers have been demanding that someone else gets a permanent slot on the show. TV presenter and BBC Radio 1 host Vick Hope has been appearing on the programme, stepping in for Richard Arnold with the latest entertainment news.

And viewers have been left impressed. @crowther_sue tweeted: "Vick Hope is a natural presenter. Deserves to be on the main desk. #gmb."

"#GMB #GoodMorningBritain Like Vick Hope. She comes across as a likeable person with positive energy. Pls bin Susanna, Ranvir & Kate then give her a main presenter role," @hooray_k commented.

It comes after viewers were left unimpressed by GMB on Friday after their April Fool's Day prank was branded the 'worst ever'. Kate was at the helm of the show alongside Ben Shephard on April 1, a day usually consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes.

While the hosts were in the London-based studio, weather presenter Laura Tobin was broadcasting from a greenhouse. While she was there, she was shown a 'unique plant' by greenhouse worker Matt who told her the new plant was very important and the first of its kind. But when he handed Laura the plant mid-sentence she 'accidentally' dropped it and they both screamed in shock before her guest tutted and stormed off.
