ITV Good Morning Britain's weatherman Alex Beresford tells Piers Morgan 'I don't work for you'

Good Morning Britain's weatherman Alex Beresford told presenter Piers Morgan "I don't work for you" in a very frosty exchange.

The awkward moment started when Susanna Reid read out a Tweet from a viewer who commented on the atmosphere between the two.

Piers laughed it off and then asked Alex about the weather at Lord's cricket ground for tomorrow.

Alex said: "Are you talking to me?"

He laughed and repeated the question, but Alex said: "I don't work for you."

It was clear Alex is not a fan of Piers (ITV)

The camera cut away, with Piers saying he will just Google the weather and Susanna said to Alex: "I know you have your personal issues with Piers, but I think you are great."

Alex said: "I think you are great too. He brings you down."

It was clear to fans of the ITV show there is no love lost between the two and many took to Twitter to comment on the toe-curling conversation.

One said: "No love lost between @alexberesfordTV and Piers #GMB glad he stand up to the latter and his bully tactics."

Another said: "What the hell was all that about, with the weather guy?"

A third said: "Did the weatherman on #gmb just come for Piers Morgan."

A fourth added: "Weather may be warm. Chilly reception from Alex."

Earlier in the show Alex actually walked off the set as Piers went on one of his trademark rants. GMB's official Twitter account posted the video of it and Alex retweeted saying: "He was going on a bit wasn't he!"

*Good Morning Britain is on ITV1, every morning from 6am
