ITV Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid taken aback by Chase star's transformation

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid was taken aback by a Chase star's transformation.

The broadcaster fronted today's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Martin Lewis. They interviewed Shaun Wallace in the final segment of Wednesday's episode.

The Dark Destroyer appeared on the show as he attempts to break the record for the biggest live quiz. The record currently stands at 4,900 people and Shaun is attempting to break the record as he has booked a gig at Sheffield arena, which has a capacity of 13,000.

Shaun is set to appear in a festive special of The Chase and the broadcasters were taken aback moments into the interview as they showed clips from the episode. The programme is an Alice in Wonderland special and Shaun has dressed up as the Cheshire Cat.

Susanna said: "That's quite a look. How do we know it's you in there?"

Shaun shot back: "It is me. You can take my word for it."

The broadcasters also quizzed Shaun on his role on the Chase and how he combines it with his career as a barrister.

He said: "It's 50/50. I always want to be remembered as a barrister who happens to be on TV and not the other way around. Although I'm grateful that I'm on a hugely successful show, the one thing I don't take for granted is a) my position on it and b) me answering the questions as a Chaser. I'm only as good as the last question I answered correctly and ,as a barrister, I'm only as good as my last closing speech."
