ITV Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid pleads 'no' at Matt Hancock's 'new role'

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid pleaded "no" at the prospect of fronting the show with Matt Hancock.

The broadcaster anchored Thursday's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Ben Shephard. The two reacted to the MP for West Sussex's shock entry into the Australian jungle in last night's episode of I'm A Celebrity.

The former Health Secretary's addition has proved to be controversial as he was forced to resign during the pandemic for breaching his own social distancing rules. Mr Hancock has decided to participate on TV's toughest entertainment challenge so people can see what he is really like.

Andi Peters hosted the competition on today's show and he claimed if Mr Hancock manages to repair his public reputation then he could soon be joining Susanna on Good Morning Britain.

Andi said: "Right I'm just gonna rehearse something just in case he wins I'm A Celebrity. This is Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid and Matt Hancock. Sadly it's got a a ring to it. Ben beware if he wins.

Susanna was visibly taken aback by the prospect as she repeatedly pleaded "no" and added: "Ben is not going anywhere."

Ben added: "A shiver just went through the sofa, Andi. I felt that from Susanna."
