ITV Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh gets emotional as she shares 'f**k you' mindset sparked by discrimination at work

Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh appeared emotional as she shared how experiencing workplace discrimination changed her mindset and how it still impacts her decisions today. The presenter, who has appeared on the ITV news programme since 2014, has shared her own personal and never-before-heard anecdote for an ITV campaign.

Ranvir, Loose Women stars Charlene White and Katie Piper, ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly and fellow ITV star Andi Peters have all appeared in the short film, with a preview airing on Tuesday night (December 27) on ITV1 before the full-length film premiers on Friday, December 30, at 1:45pm and again at 11pm.

Encouraging on-screen diversity and sharing the importance of representation in television, the emotionally moving film sees some of ITV daytime’s most loved presenters opening up like never before about the impact that both positive and negative on-screen representation has had on their careers to date.

Former Strictly star Ranvir shared an experience early on in her broadcasting career that motivated her to become who she is today. She said: "What was really upsetting but also at the same time weirdly reassuring, was that all the other decent white people in the office knew I wasn't being spoken to in the same way that other women with my same inexperience were being treated, and none of them stepped in."

She then emotionally added: "And do you know what… everything I’ve done since then is a f*ck you to that. Everything I’ve done since then has been - you ignored me, I’ll make sure you can never ignore me [again]."

As she finished sharing her anecdote, the Metro reports that Ranvir was visibly upset. "It makes me quite emotional because I don’t really think about it very often," she explained.

Andi Peters also become emotional during his participation in the film as he discussed overcoming boundaries and barriers saying. The former Children's TV presetner, who is now a regular on GMB, Lorraine and This Morning, said: "We've got to become comfortable with the uncomfortable…It is still a sore subject."

He went on: "I get upset when people don't believe in themselves, don't let the colour of your skin ever hold you back. Don’t let who you are ever hold you back. Everyone can achieve, it might be harder for you and you might have to battle, but believe in yourself and eventually somebody else will believe in you." He concluded: "We mustn't fear the hard work… just get it done!"
