ITV Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan shames health secretary for eating calorie-laden treat

Piers Morgan shamed health secretary Matt Hancock for eating a calorie-laden snack before his appearance on the show today.

Mr Hancock appeared on GMB to talk about the upcoming European election and the Tory leadership challenge.

But when host Piers asked the minister what he enjoyed for his breakfast - he came unstuck.

Before his appearance Mr Hancock was filmed eating a caramel waffle which weighs in at more than 300 calories and contains half the recommended daily fat allowance for a man.

Mr Hancock told Piers he had a banana and a waffle and that everything was "good in moderation".

Complete stranger explains why he's paying for Freddie Starr's funeral

He said: "If you like your waffles then that's fine, just don't have them all the time and do some exercise as well."

And fans were quick to comment on the incident.
