ITV Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan opens up on 'zombie drugs' illness

Piers Morgan is back on Good Morning Britain after a summer off - but he revealed a secret health battle he'd been struggling with since he got back.

Piers is known for his firey manner on the breakfast show, but viewers have noticed he's been quieter than usual since his return.

And today he addressed the fact he's not been as riled up as usual - saying he had a knee infection.

He said: "I got no sleep last night and I've got this knee infection.

"I got bitten in Italy and it got infected and now I'm on all these drugs that make me like a zombie.

"I'm a glorified zombie, I don't like being calm, it's unsettling."

But Piers wasn't quiet for long as he argued with weather girl Laura Tobin over the fact it was going to be a sunny day.

Piers was excited for a warm and sunny day, but Laura said that you had to be emotionless about the weather, because not everyone enjoys the hot weather.

Which sent Piers on a rant about the 'snowflake generation' and how ridiculous it was to not be happy about a day filled with sunshine.

*GMB continues at 6am on ITV tomorrow
