ITV Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan bedbound by sunstroke

Piers Morgan has said he spent the weekend in bed after suffering sunstroke.

The Good Morning Britain presenter said his symptoms included not being able to 'talk' or 'breathe' after being affected by the recent heatwave.

He told Dr Hilary Jones: "I hadn't had a single drink, I had heat exhaustion. I spent two days in bed.

"I couldn’t walk, couldn’t talk, couldn’t breathe. It was like a utopia for all my critics.

"Heat exhaustion is quite unpleasant, I’ve discovered."

Dr Hilary said: "It’s very unpleasant. Headaches, dehydration, not being able to sweat."

Piers added: "I just slept it off."

Unfortunately for Piers, his critics were back as he read a tweet from one GMB viewer.

Piers said: "Ann has just tweeted in, she said 'sunstroke appears to have done the trick.

"May even be able to watch the whole programme today rather than switching channels, as I have after his recent rantings'."

But Susanna said she thought Piers had ranted more since being bedbound by heat exhaustion, to which Piers just shrugged his shoulders.

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
