ITV Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid send emotional message to Kate Garraway

Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid paid an emotional tribute to Kate Garraway as her husband battles coronavirus.

Derek Draper is receiving emergency hospital treatment and Kate has been forced to self-isolate after she showed symptoms for the virus.

Today, Susanna and Piers wished Derek and Kate all the best as they presented Good Morning Britain.

Susanna said: "We send him every ounce of strength as he recovers from coronavirus and love to her family.

Piers Morgan also gave his best wishes to the family (ITV)

"We thank all the NHS workers working so hard at the moment treating those who are suffering the virus."

Piers Morgan said: "It's coming home to everyone, everyone's been touched by this… this is something that affects all of us around the world.

"We've never had anything like this."

"It's agonising for everybody involved. We wish everybody the best, fingers crossed everything turns out OK."

Last week, a spokesman for Kate, 52, said "Kate's husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of Covid-19.

"He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.

"Kate hasn't been tested, however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."
