Around 12million households will see their energy prices rise by 10% on April 1.
However, Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has revealed how you can avoid the price hike.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Martin revealed that regulator Ofgem is set to increase the energy price cap this Monday.
For most people, their energy bill will rise from £1,137 a year to £1,254 a year based on typical usage.
Firms including British Gas, EDF, E.On, Npower, Scottish Power and SSE are just some of the companies raising their prices.

And Martin reports that this means nearly 50% of the population on their standard variable tariffs will now pay more than before the price cap was introduced on January 1.
However, the finance guru revealed that you can beat the price hike, by switching suppliers.
He said by using Martin’s Cheap Energy Club or any Ofgem-approved site you can find your cheapest tariff in minutes and switch to it now.

When comparing, you want to look for firms that offer a good service and decent price.
Martin recommends Bulb and Shell Energy, which could save someone with typical usage over £250 a year.
It's worth noting that the saving will be larger than the price you’re shown on a comparison website as it is based on the current price not the one from April.
The energy price cap will be reassessed again in October 2019.
