Good Morning Britain's resident doctor has warned Brits about wearing face masks, saying it could actually do 'more harm than good'.
As the coronavirus outbreak continues, more people have been looking for ways to stop the virus spreading - from wearing plastic gloves to masks.
But Dr Hilary Jones has now spoken out about whether we should wear a face mask when we go outside.
Dr Hilary said: "Some countries are saying masks are important for everybody, the World Health Organisation are saying the same and CDC in America have just come out with that advice.
"However Public Health England are still saying there is no strong evidence that healthy people going out to get their supplies and doing their essential things need to wear masks.
"They are saying people should because it stops the mechanical transmission of these droplets but for other people you could actually do more harm than good.
"Because people put their hands to their face more often if they're wearing a mask, the mask becomes moist and quickly becomes contaminated and it can induce a form of complacency.
"You think you're wearing a mask so don't need to hand-wash. Now hand-washing is really important and if you chose to wear a mask you have to wash your hands before you put it on, before you take it off and after you've taken it off.
"Otherwise you're just contaminating the mask. My personal view is that you don't need to wear a mask if you're out in public socially distancing, but if you have symptoms wear a mask."
