ITV Good Morning Britain's Andi Peters says he's 'trying his hardest' as Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley pick up on issue

Andi Peters admitted he was 'trying his hardest' as he made his latest appearance on Good Morning Britain. The TV star was back on the ITV news programme on Wednesday (March 8) to bring viewers the latest competition details.

Andi was out on location as presented the competition from the glamourous French Riviera. However, the 52-year-old wasn't quite matching his surrounding as hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley spotted a problem as they hosted the mid-week episode from the London-based studio.

Noticing that Andi, who was donning a red t-shirt under a cosy red jacket, wasn't his usual self, Richard, 63, asked him if he was ok. "Have you got a cold? You sound a bit stuffed up," the former This Morning host said.

Andi, who had previously hosted the competition from Italy before heading to France and preparing to jet to Monaco, replied: "I have unfortunately, I'm trying my hardest to hide it! But you know what I even bought- I took from the hotel a pillow and it's with me.

"So when I'm not talking to you on the telly, I'm literally using the campervan properly and having a little lie down." Susanna then replied: "Very good, get well soon Andi," before he appeared again later on in the show. When the cameras revisited Andi, the former children's presenter could be seen lying down in the campervan with an eyemask covering his eyes and blankets over his legs.

It comes weeks after Andi left viewers unimpressed over his location as he advertised the show's latest competition. He jetted off to South Africa, the current home of the winter series of Love Island to announce a new competition for GMB nad Lorraine which featured £250,000 in tax-free cash as well as a separate draw to win a Fiat 500 car worth over £31,000.

Taking to social media to share their frustrations, one person wrote: "Can you explain, why sending Andi Peters around the Globe adds value to your competition?" Another added: "Why does Andi Peters have to go to Cape Town to advertise a competition?!"
