ITV Good Morning Britain forced to cut back to studio after revellers bombard Richard Arnold

Richard Arnold was forced to cut back to the studio this morning, after he was bombarded by revellers in New York.

Richard was in the Big Apple for World Pride and was live outside the Stonewall Inn chatting to Piers and Susanna in the studio.

It was 2:30am in New York and the party was still in full swing, with lots of people passing behind Richard.

As he filled Susanna and Piers in on what had been happening in New York he was suddenly accosted by party-goers.

They seemed good-natured and soon ran off, but then some more people passed by and looked more aggressive - shouting things at the camera.

It was then that Richard looked behind him alarmed and said "Right we'll go back to the studio now then."

Back in the studio Piers said: "We should never have gone live to him in New York in the early hours."

Later on in the programme Piers and Susanna apologised for the "fruity" language used by some of the revellers, which was unsuitable for the 7:30am audience.

*GMB continues at 6am on ITV tomorrow
