ITV GMB Susanna Reid's 'God no' response to X-Factor return rumours

X-Factor is rumoured to be making a return to our screens next year, Good Morning Britain announced today. Rumours about the show’s return have been rumbling since late last year, however it is yet to be confirmed by a network.

ITV presenter Radzi Chinyanganya announced the entertainment news on this morning’s GMB: “Rumour has it X-Factor could be making a comeback. Oh yes, how good does that sound?

“Sources say that Simon could be all set to revive the show as soon as 2023, following a five year hiatus to recapture that magic.”

The presenter added that it was not yet clear if X-Factor will return to air on ITV or another channel.

He added: “So guys, what do we think? Is it time for X-Factor to come back?”

Fellow GMB host Susanna Reid was the first to chip in, responding: “I don't know. But there's plenty of people here at ITV who you might be able to ask.”

Radzi joked that perhaps Susanna could step up to become a judge on the show. Susanna replied:“God no”. She added that the role of judge carried an “enormous amount of pressure”.

The X Factor might be about to return to British TV screens (ITV / Fremantle / Syco)

An industry source told the Daily Star : “It has been decided that the time is right to bring X-Factor back. It’s really exciting. Everyone who will be working on the new series can’t wait to get started.”

The publication revealed that music mogul Simon Cowell has reportedly signed a large deal with a production company for the show. At the end of last year Simon announced that the show would be back, teasing that it may return to a channel other than ITV.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
