ITV Family Fortunes fans poke fun at host Gino D'Acampo over this blunder

He's known for his cheeky and unapologetic ways.

But fans of ITV's Family Fortunes poked fun at host Gino D'Acampo after Sunday night's episode in which he made an answer suggestion. And it didn't go down too well with all viewers.

The popular chef hosts the revamped version of the hit game show on ITV.

And Sunday night's episode saw the Wilson family from Worcester take on the Popat family from Harrow with the two families going head to head to try and outsmart the other.

The competing families have to come up with the most popular answers to questions posed to the public.

And the family who scores the most points goes through to Big Money, which sees two of them answering just five questions for the £30,000 jackpot.

On Sunday the players were asked to name animals beginning with the letter A. They struggled to find the fifth and final animal and Gino stepped in to offer a suggestion.

"I'm surprised nobody said 'amster'," he joked.

The families laughed as Gino appeared dumbfounded.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked.

But viewers took to Twitter to share their opinion on the joke.

One said: "I'm surprised nobody said 'amster' - Think you might be missing a 'H' there, Gino..."

And one woman who shared laughing emojis said: "Animal beginning with A? Amster? Fml think you mean Hamster hun."

While one said: "I feel like we all love Gino on this show ....but not for the right reasons."

But one did not see the funny side.

"Why is he saying hamster it’s not even funny," they said.

Family Fortunes airs on ITV on Sundays at 8pm.
