Soap fans are used to being stunned with the twists and turns of dramatic storylines.
But, tonight Emmerdale viewers were shocked to learn that not only were two of the characters married, they were also celebrating their wedding anniversary.
In the Woolpack, Kim Tate, played by Claire King, revealed to the whole pub that her and Graham Foster, played by Andrew Scarborough, were married.
But it is far from wedding bliss as Graham promises to "finish her" and tries to convince Rhona Goskirk, played by Zoe Henry, it was a business agreement.
Kim loved the power over Graham, smirking and sipping champagne and she told the village their little secret.
Fans at home couldn't believe the revelation as the soap cut to an advert break, one, @nmonk_crohns said: " Wtf when did they get married?"
Another, @topgooner100 said: " WEDDING ANNIVERSARY YOU WHAT??"
A third, @LifeofShareene said: " LOL wedding anniversary, I didn’t see that coming."
A fourth, @GrianneDoherty1 added: " OMG Kim & Graham are secretly married seriously? Since when exactly?"
It seems the storyline is set to rumble on until Christmas when Graham might get his revenge over the festive dinner table at Home Farm.
