ITV Emmerdale viewers shocked after spotting major broadcasting blunder

ITV Emmerdale viewers were shocked during tonight's episode which highlighted the changes to the soap's broadcasting schedule.

Many shows have seen in schedule shake-up in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Tonight's episode of the hit soap was originally meant to air on Good Friday and saw characters talking about Easter eggs while making several references to the bank holiday.

Jamie secretly planned to meet up with Belle, before his wife Andrea called into the vets to drop off their daughter, Mille.

Leaving, Andrea said: "It's Good Friday, you might get the odd emergency call out."

The schedule shake-up was introduced to try and extend broadcasting of the hit soaps while filming has had to be suspended.

But viewers were quick to spot the repeated Easter references and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One viewer said: "Good friday, how many episodes are we behind?"

Another commented: "It's still Good Friday on #Emmerdale. Not that Harriet seems to have noticed."

Charlotte added: "Did have to triple take then when she said Good Friday menu".

Stephen said: " @emmerdale and @ITV... please can we stop delaying the broadcasts - Good Friday menu at The Woolpack, meeting up over Easter, picking up personalised Easter eggs. All a fortnight ago ... it’s not working ..."

Another viewer added: "Good Friday?! Jeez, I knew I’d been losing track of time but even so..."

Tonight's episode also saw Dawn shocked when foster parents arrived and accused Will of threatening them.

Vanessa also asked Rhona to be Johnny's guardian in the event of her death from cancer.

*Emmerdale airs on ITV at 7pm
