ITV Emmerdale star confuses Chase fans as she's applauded for everyday activity

The Chase fans were left confused tonight as an Emmerdale star was clapped by the audience for completing an everyday activity.

Louisa Clein, who played paedophile teacher Maya in the ITV soap, was the second contestant to go up against The Sinnerman, Paul Sinha, who was tonight's Chaser.

Before she took on the Chaser she chatted to host Bradley Walsh about her acting career.

Bradley asked her if she'd had to move to Leeds to star in Emmerdale, but Louisa said that she hadn't made the move and was instead commuting from London.

In the celebrity version of the show there is a studio audience and as Louisa confessed she commuted they erupted into applause.

And viewers at home were puzzled as to why her admission had got such a big reaction and many of them took to social media.

Emily said: "People will literally applaud anything these days."

Everyone loves cake said: "A round of applause for a commute??!"

Kyle Sewell said: "Why did everyone clap at her move from London to Leeds? Is it really challenging or something."

Louisa went onto score a respectable £6,000 in her cash builder and her fellow teammates urged her to take the higher offer.

But she said she wanted to get back to her team so decided to play for the middle offer.

Louisa had some lucky questions and guessed some answers, but managed to get back to her team and add the £6k to the total.
