ITV Emmerdale's Charley Webb thanks fans after she emotionally reveals mum's diagnosis after eight years

Charley Webb has been showered with support and stories after she revealed her mum's diagnosis on Mother's Day. The former Emmerdale star took to Instagram on Sunday (March 19) and shared a photo with her mum taken on her wedding day.

Charley, who married fellow ITV soap star Matthew Wolfenden in a surprise ceremony back in 2018, explained alongside the sweet picture that her "lovely" mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015 at the age of 64.

The 35-year-old wrote: "In 2015, our lovely Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She was 64. This last 8 years have been a learning curve, a grieving process and something all of her children have struggled with. Every day is a challenge and brings difficulties which are really hard to come to terms with."
