ITV Emmerdale first look as Cain Dingle arrives home while Kyle is taken away after killer confession

For months they have been trying to protect him but after his own confession to the police, Emmerdale fans will see Kyle Winchester taken away and his dad, Cain Dingle, released from prison. As viewers of the ITV soap know, the 10-year-old was the one responsible for the death of Al Chapman.

Cain, played by Jeff Hordley, took the blame for his son after witnessing the youngster, played by Huey Quinn, accidentally let off a shotgun and kill Al. Initially, fans thought Cain had finally committed the ultimate crime after facing off with Al over his affair with sister Chas.

However, a flashback episode later revealed that it was Kyle who was the one who really shot Al when the panicked youngster caught the pair fighting and feared for his dad. Cain was quick to take the blame for his son but Kyle has since been struggling with keeping his actions a secret.

Over Christmas, a guilt-ridden Kyle ran went missing from home and was found by PC Swirling. Amy Wyatt and Moira Dingle managed to convince the police officer that Kyle was lying about killing Al and just wanted his dad home. But later, at the police station, Kyle confessed to murder after speaking to his uncle Caleb, who made his first appearance on Christmas Day and was soon offering to help the family's case.

The young lad ended up being released on bail pending investigations - including checking the blood on the jumper Kyle handed to them in a carrier bag. And earlier this week, Emmerdiae viewers saw Moira, Amy, Matty Barton, and Mackenzie Boyd all taken in for questioning and all tried to peddle the same story.

However, during Wednesday night's episode (January 11), Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, was devastated to learn that Kyle was going to be taken to an authority children’s home and was left wondering if her marriage to Cain could survive this when, from prison, he made it clear he blamed her for this turn of events.

In tonight's episode (Thursday, January 12), Emmerdale fans will see Moira shocked to see Cain, fresh out of prison. But it comes at a price as in heartbreaking scenes, Moira, Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and the Dingles say an emotional goodbye to Kyle as the social workers take him away following his confession of killing Al.
