They seemed to think that the unknown body lying on the floor could be a figure of Gabby's imagination. Ali said: "Is Gabby imagining it all? Has she got postnatal depression? Not watched for ages but just a thought #Emmerdale."

Garry said: "Oh someone was there, I thought Gabby was daydreaming. #Emmerdale." Meanwhile, Lee said: "#Emmerdale It would be hilarious if Gabby really did just spook herself into this situation and there was nobody stalking her."

Previous episodes have shown that the new mum believes her baby's father, Jamie Tate, is the hooded figure appearing on CCTV tapes. Gabby has learnt that Jamie is still alive after faking his own death. Gabby also found a gift for Thomas which convinced her that Jamie could be back for revenge - or to steal her son.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
