ITV Emmerdale fans work out Amelia's baby name as actress Daisy Campbell shares how she got through labour scenes

After a week of death and destruction in the village, Emmerdale fans were grateful for some light relief as Amelia Spencer gave birth. The teen, played by Daisy Campbell, went into labour in the midst of the storm after heading out of the village to set up a picnic for herself and boyfriend Noah Dingle.

But disaster struck when the windstorm knocked her off her feet and the fall appears to have sent her into early labour with weeks to go before her baby was due. Dad Dan Spencer, Lydia Dingle, Harriet Finch, and Kim Tate were among those who went out looking for Amelia.

And it ended in police officer Harriet losing her life. She succumbed to injuries after being flung down a ravine and crushed by the quad bike she was riding in the woods. After being found by Kim, the bike was struck by a lightning bolt and the explosion caught Harriet in its wake.

Dan, in his search for Amelia, later found his lifeless partner in the woods. But on Thursday night (October 20), safely in hospital after being found by Lydia, it was finally time for the schoolgirl to welcome her first child into the world with the support of Noah, his mum Charity and her dad's former partner Kerry Wyatt.

In the end it was Charity and Kerry who helped Amelia through after Noah got on the mum-to-be's nerves during her labour. Dan later got to meet his granddaughter for the first time and couldn't hide his emotion as Amelia spoke about being the best mum she could be with the support of him, Kerry and Harriet.

Dan didn't break the news of Harriet's death to his daughter but Emmerdale viewers have been predicting that Amelia may name her newborn after the former vicar or Olivia after Liv Flaherty, who died in heartbreaking scenes after being crushed by a caravan during the terrifying storm.

@IrishClaireK tweeted: "Bet Amelia finds out Harriet died and names the baby after her #emmerdale." @sallyjane90 echoed: "What we betting Amelia names the baby Harriet? #Emmerdale." @mcadamshead commented: "I'm gonna bet that Amelias baby ends up with #Harriet in her name. Maybe I'm wrong but would be a touching tribute #Emmerdale." @LauraaCowell shared: "Really hope Amelia calls her baby girl Harriet #emmerdale."

@chickinjeans shared: "I bet she calls the baby Olivia #emmerdale." @ShakyWoon posted: "I wonder if Amelia's baby will be named after Liv? #Emmerdale." @whatjaynereads added: "So will baby be Harriet Olivia Faith? #emmerdale," referring to all three characters who have died in the last week, including Faith Dingle who took her own life amid her terminal cancer diagnosis.

Following the episode Daisy, who has played Amelia for more than 10 years, took to Instagram to share her joy at becoming a 'TV Mom' and posted a bunch of behind-the-scenes snaps from filming the scenes with co-stars including Emma Atkins and Laura Norton. "I cannot believe Amelia Spencer is a mum!" she typed alongside the images, with the first showing her looking rather windswept.

She went on: "Welcome to the world baby. I’m so unbelievably lucky to be apart of the 50th anniversary. I can’t believe I came into the show as a baby and now I have one on the show as my own Everyone at emmerdale has worked there butts off to make these episodes. So proud of all our cast and crew.

"These episodes this week have been so amazing and unforgettable, and I’m so honoured I got to play a part in it! Here’s a little bts of the best month of filming." Another image showed Daisy with her co-stars in the fake hospital as her character gave birth while another showed the prosthetic bump she had been using to play her pregnant character.

And Daisy also shared what got her through filming the intense scenes. Posting a selfie of her tucking into a well-known energy drink while donning a hospital gown, she wrote: "And this was me 3 days into screaming [crying laughing emoji]."
