ITV Emmerdale fans predict what's to come as Amelia Spencer battles with body image

Fans of Emmerdale have predicted that Amelia Spencer will feature in a dark storyline.

The soap character, played by Daisy Campbell, was looking glum on tonight's episode of the ITV soap. The youngster has been spending more and more time on social media apps in recent episodes.

She has drastically changed her lifestyle as a result of ideas she’s seen from influencers online, including completely cutting out carbs for breakfast. Amelia decided to post a picture to her own social media accounts showing off some new gym gear.

But unfortunately, the teenager found herself falling victim to nasty comments. She later decided to delete the post due to the comments from the trolls.

Tonight's episode saw her being comforted by Samson Dingle. He asked her what was wrong and she said: "You know when you post something and then wish you never had?"

He replied: "No, not really. But is that why you took your post down yesterday?"

She went on to explain to him that someone wrote something harsh, and Samson advised her to ignore them. He added: "They're probably just jealous or something. I thought you looked good."

But Amelia disagreed. She said: "No, I looked ill and bony and my elbows looked weird."

Fans on Twitter were worried about the direction of where the storyline was heading. Georgia said: "#Emmerdale Is Amelia going to develop an eating disorder?" Caitlin said: "What's up with Amelia at the moment? Gearing up for something big it seems #Emmerdale."

Pilch said: "Reading between the lines I think it's going to lead onto a diet/eating disorder storyline...." Meanwhile, Ryan said: "I'm worried about this new storyline for Amelia #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub
