ITV Emmerdale fans plead 'no' as they 'work out' character is leaving soap

Emmerdale fans were "gutted" as they predicted a much-loved character is destined to quit the show.

Viewers were left reeling last week after finding out Caleb Milligan and Nicky the nanny are actually father and son. Meanwhile, Caleb's dad is none other than the late Frank Tate.

Caleb and Nicky are coming after the Tates, with Nicky having already managed to worm his way into a job at Home Farm - and an engagement to Gabby Thomas.

But as their plan moves forward, some fans have been left disappointed as they believe this means Caleb's stay in Emmerdale will be a short one. Taking to a Facebook group dedicated to viewers of the long-running ITV soap, one fan said: "Do we think once Caleb is found out and his main story effectively draws to a close, that will be it? I really hope not, he is a fantastic character and I love Will Ash too."

Responding to the post, one social media user said: "I really want him to stay, be gutted if he goes. It's nice to have some new blood in the village", while a second added: "Nooo, I want him to stay, think he’s brill!" [sic]

A third said: "I really hope Caleb stays, but I don't see how it would work".

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX
