ITV Emmerdale fans make complaints as soap returns with triple bill

Emmerdale fans have endured disruption due to a change in the planning scheduling following the Queen's death. Following the announcement that Queen Elizabeth II had died peacefully at Balmoral last Thursday, September 8, broadcasters changed their planned programming to make way for rolling news coverage and tribute programmes.

For the soaps, this has led to a backlog in episodes going out meaning they're finding opportunities to put them back out to fans. This meant that on Thursday night (September 15), Emmerdale aired three missed episodes from 7.30pm to 9pm following by Coronation Street which aired for an hour.

Sticking with Emmerdale, the trio of episodes saw the return of Millie Tate. She was back after being kept from grandmother Kim Tate. The youngster was sent to live with her other Gran, Hazel, following her mother Andrea Tate's horrifying death in the maze fire last year.

Unbeknownst to Kim, the young girl was being silenced by her father, Jamie, after he faked his own death. Hazel ended up in hospital at the hands of Jamie leading to Kim found out the truth about her son being alive. Kim ended up taking Millie home but things went from bad to worse when the youngster ran away, only to be found in the old home she shared with her mum and nurse Wendy Posner.

Elsewhere, viewers saw Mackenzie Boyd close to telling girlfriend Charity Dingle the truth about his secret liaison with a mystery woman earlier this month whereas Nate Robinson was rekindling his blossoming romance with Naomi after cooling things off upon discovering she was with the gang of girls who horrifically attacked Nicola King earlier in the year.

But as Emmerdale viewers took in all the latest action, some felt overwhelmed and made a complaint. @Helz2011 tweeted: "Overdose of #emmerdale tonight, it's too much!" @GaryOrmiston1 said: "#Emmerdale overload tonight on @ITV making up for missing eps in past/future." @Samanth22356123 joked: "Triple! We’re being tortured er sorry spoilt! #Emmerdale."

Others spotted an issue with the three episodes being showed in individual installments. @ASuperGav posted: "#Emmerdale What is the point of having closing credits if we’re having one and a half hours of the same programme ? I’m ConFused.com." @DavidHe47935675 replied: "Aye its weird they didn't just add an extra advert or 2(as if we would notice) and keep it going." @deanobeanos added: "Wtf was the point in them credits #Emmerdale."
