Emmerdale fans were gutted for David after Victoria brought up some painful memories.
Earlier this week, Amy told a surprised David that Meena fancies him.
Meena finally asked Dave on a date outright and he was chuffed, agreeing to cook lunch for them.

As the big day arrived, both David and Meena were excited to further their relationship.
However, Victoria accidentally slipped up when she reminded David of his ex-girlfriend and convicted groomer Maya.
Speaking outside the shop, Victoria joked: "You know how to pick them. I mean she is a bit bonkers."
David responded: "What like Maya bonkers?"
Victoria said: "No, no nothing like Maya."
However, a deflated David said: "Why did you have to bring Maya into this?"
Upset by the memory, David cancelled his lunch date, leaving Meena furious.

Fans were equally left unimpressed with Victoria's comments.
Declan tweeted: "Well that was encouraging Victoria. That’s enough to put me off dating never mind David. Lol."
Mick wrote: "Well done, Vic."
And Grianne said: "Why would David cancel really Vic? Maybe bringing up his evil ex put him off just a bit?"
