Tonight's hour long special episode of Emmerdale had viewers hooked - especially after seeing Vanessa's son, Johnny.
The long-running soap 's recent storyline has centred around Vanessa and her son Johnny's kidnapping at the hands of rapist and killer, Pierce Harris.
Pierce had been hiding away in Laurel Thomas' house, only to be spotted by a shocked Vanessa, who had no idea he was out of prison and back in the village.
Tonight saw Vanessa finally see her son after being trapped for more than a week.
As Pierce took her upstairs to a bedroom, Johnny was spotted lying in bed with dark circles under his closed eyes.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their concerns.
Mark said: "Has Johnny got two black eyes or is he dead and sort of decomposing after a week?"
Hannah said: "Is Johnny dead? Why are is eyes dark and sunken like that? Freaked me the Hell out."
Thinking differently, Grace said: "Pierce throwing Vanessa around & then showing her Johnny fast sleep [three crying emojis] I cant wait for him to get his comeuppance!!!"
The episode also saw Rhona Goskirk come face to face with her rapist husband in emotional scenes.
