Emmerdale fans have been wondering if they'll be hit with another pregnancy twist otherwise they say 'what's the point?' During Wednesday night's trip to the Dales, viewers saw Marlon Dingle's physiotherapist Kit containing his dalliances with both Laurel Thomas and her step-daughter Gabby.
Fans of the ITV soap were left repulsed earlier this week when Gabby and Kit, who she thought was named Chris, flirted after spending the night together just hours after the new character had enjoyed an afternoon tryst on the pirate ship with Laurel.
Gabby, played by Rosie Bentham, was previously seen excitedly heading off on her first date since welcoming her son, Thomas. On her way, she bumped into her late dad's former wife but soon, with Laurel out of sight, Kit appeared and introduced himself to Gabby as 'Chris' after they matched on a dating app.
Gabby was later left flustered when Laurel arrived, the morning after the night before, and almost caught the pair, with Gabby wearing just a white fluffy dressing gown. But as soon as her step mum was gone, she flirted up a storm with 'fit' Kit and they were soon seen running back up the stairs and returning to the bedroom.
But Kit - or Chris' - time was up during last night's episode. After pulling off having a date with both Gabby and Laurel, Kat was caught out red-handed with Gabby in the kitchen of Home Farm by Laurel in the midst of a passionate kiss with the 20-year-old.
After their initial confusion, it eventually hit them what had been going on and they were both left horrified and gave Kit his marching orders as he tried to wriggle out of the situation.
While Emmerdale fans were relieved the producers hadn't drawn out the storyline, they were quick to speculate whether there would be a twist further down the line.
Sue Callcutt shared on Facebook: "Who else wonders if Gabby and Laurel are both going to be pregnant?" Isabell Kinsella replied: "I'm thinking the same." Olivia King echoed: "Same thing struck me earlier." @griannedoherty2 tweeted: "Unless there's gona be a double pregnancy reveal what exactly was the point? #Emmerdale."
@1stLadyHooligan wrote: "Busted pmsl. Be a bit funny if Laurel & Gabby are pregnant to the ratbag." @Bas51095594Bas pondered: "Gabby and Laurel both to get pregnant by Chris/Kit? #emmerdale."
But overall, Emmerdale viewers were relieved. @WiniBoansi tweeted: "OMG Laurel has caught him & Gabby!! I am glad that they didn't drag this nonsense out #Emmerdale." @lalavie444 said: "#emmerdale Desperate Laurel and Desperate Gabby. Thank goodness they didn't drag this ridiculous Kit/ Chris silliness out!"
