ITV Emmerdale fans 'excited' to see more as soap 'unbeatable'

Fans of Emmerdale just can't get enough at the minute.

Often soaps see viewers "switch off" as they get bored of storylines dragging on for too long, but that is far from the case with the ITV soap. This week has seen some explosive episodes as Chas' Dingle's sordid affair with deceased Al Chapman was finally exposed.

Paddy let Chas believe they were headed off on a romantic getaway on Thursday's episode but it soon became apparent it was really to confront her on her affair with Al. Elsewhere fans were left in tears earlier in the week as Arthur Thomas, played by Alfie Clarke, bravely came out as gay.

During Monday night's trip to the fictional Yorkshire village, the troubled teen visited his dad's grave and was soon joined by the village's vicar Charles - played by Kevin Mathurin - who opened up an emotional conversation that left Arthur on the verge of tears. The schoolboy revealed how he feared his dad, Ashley, who was also a vicar, would be disappointed in him for not following the same career path as him.

Later, Nicola supported Arthur during a game of Hangman. As Nicola continued to offer up letters for the game, Arthur’s phrase became clearer. Once Nicola caught on to what Arthur was saying she helped him complete the sentence with the final letter - ‘I Am Gay'. The schoolboy proceeded to break down in Nicola’s arms as he was overcome with emotion.

Will such powerful storylines going on, fans have been "excited" to tune in each night this week. Taking to Twitter they have shared their joy from watching the "unbeatable" soap.

Doreen said: "Hope tonight's episode matches last night though I somehow doubt it #emmerdale."

Reece said: "Actually excited for #emmerdale didn’t think I say that." A third added: "Yess #emmerdale time. Unbeatable soap."

Chloe said: "I just got WAY too excited about Paddy knowing about Chas and Al, I literally squealed. ABOUT!! TIME!!! #Emmerdale."
