Emmerdale fans were left stunned tonight as Jamie Tate revealed how old he was.
In the vets Jamie was chatting to Belle as he stroked a guinea pig.
When the guinea pig bit him, he said to Belle "Even the animals are turning on me."
Jamie then went onto to confess he was scared of being alone and told Belle he was worried no one would want him.
He said: "I'm a 23-year-old soon to be a divorcee with a child, I'm not a catch."
Belle assured him that it wasn't the case and the pair shared a kiss.
But viewers couldn't believe Jamie was so young - with many thinking he was much older.
Alexander Lincoln, who plays Jamie, is 26 in real life, so not much older than his character - but fans still struggled with the revelation.
Laura said: "Jamie is 23? Sorry don’t believe it."
Kmac said: "No way is Jamie just 23."
Happyh1983 said: "So if Jamie is 23 that would mean he got Andrea pregnant at 17 and still went to university come on @emmerdale sort it out."
Chloe said: "I thought Jamie was a lot older than 23?! I know the actor is probably late 20's/early 30's!
And Sarah Bailey said: "Jamie 23, thought it was 7 uni years to become a vet."
Later in the episode Belle was paid a visit by Jamie's mum Kim, who told her to stay away from her son, unless she wanted her to tell everyone and Belle's boyfriend about their clandestine tryst.
