ITV Emmerdale and BBC Strictly star Kelvin Fletcher defended by fans as he shares snowy 'driving' video of kids

Fans of Kelvin Fletcher were quick to defend him after he came under fire for posting a video of his kids 'driving' in the snow. The former Emmerdale actor, who played farmer Andy Sugden in the ITV soap, has somewhat transformed into his former character after acquiring his own farm with his wife Liz.

A few years ago the couple relocated to the Peak District where they purchased a 120-acre farm despite having not previous farming experience. Their plan was to restore the farmland and run it themselves, despite the challenges they faced. And Kelvin and Liz even documented their new challenge in their own BBC One programme, Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure, which aired earlier this year as they get to grips with the basics of agriculture.

But as well as themselves, the couple's children have also got stuck into life on the farm, particularly their eldest kids five-year-old daughter Marnie and three-year-old son Milo while twins Maximus Crowther and Mateusz Kelvin are too young to understand at just seven-months-old.

And with the dramatic change in weather over the last week, the Fletchers appeared to be having a bit of fun in the snow. In a new vide Kelvin shared to Instagram, Marnie and Milo, could be seen in the driving seat of a 4x4. The youngsters could be seen waving for the camera in the video, as Kelvin wrote: "A different kind of homework."

But while some felt 'uncomfortable' watching, others said it reminded them of their childhood and loved seeing the family experiencing happy times together. @cathryn.lloyd.52 said: "Literally my childhood! My dad would set me to ‘drive’ and he’d be throwing the hay off the back for the stock."

@ursulafurlong replied: "My grandfather used to let us drive into the garage hence tyres at the far wall! Let them have fun, learn about risks. We have become so risk averse in this country....I'll shut up before I start ranting!" @glynis.herron posted: "Love this. Anyone who grew up on the country in the farm did this. Ignore the haters."

@clairemclx79 wrote: "Love it. Takes me back to my childhood of being on the farm In wales with my cousins. Typically all the Karen's are out. Hardly like their on the main road driving. Great memories." @georgewright2013 echoed: "I LOVE this reminds me of my childhood." @just_rebeccaa added: "Please don't delete this because of all the fun sponges. I bet the kids had a brilliant time!!"

Back in September, Kelvin was spotted parking up his tractor as he popped out for breakfast with Liz and the kids. Kelvin looked like the real-life version of his former soap character as he headed to meet Liz, his wife of seven years, and their children. The 38-year-old couldn't be missed as he was seen parking up his tractor in Alderley Edge in Cheshire.

He appeared fresh from the farm as he donned a long-sleeved, check patterned shirt over a t-shirt which were tucked into his muddied blue jeans. He also kept his welly boots on as he headed over to The Village Café. And Kelvin, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, was sporting a very different look which he surprised fans with back in June during a TV appearance on ITV's Lorraine.
