ITV Emmerdale Al Chapman's new love interest leaves viewers feeling sick

Emmerdale fans felt sick after Al Chapman developed a potential new romantic interest on tonight's show.

Wednesday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore Al's complicated ownership battle for the Woolpack pub.

The character played by Michael Wildman is plotting to turn the iconic pub into a block of luxury flats, but his plans are being opposed by Chas and Marlon Dingle.

Last night's edition saw Al sabotage the Champagne promotion at the pub in order to stitch up the current owners and undermine them in the village.

His plan succeeded when Chas smashed a bottle of Champagne and lashed out at Nicola in front of Officer Swirling.

On the latest programme, Al was attempting to win over residents in the Yorkshire village to get more support for his controversial plans.

One character who was particularly listening closely was Kerry Wyatt as the two repeatedly flirted with one another throughout the episode.

Al's plans seemingly failed at the end of the episode when the characters issued a rallying cry to preserve the future of the Woolpack.

However, a romantic connection continued to blossom between Al and Kerry as he offered to buy her a drink at the end of the episode.

Viewers on Twitter took to the social media platform in disbelief at the unexpected development between the two characters.

Ryan tweeted, alongside sick emojis: "Kerry latching onto Al"

Matthew added: "Please tell me we're not going there with Al and Kerry?!"

Garry commented: "Don't tell me Kerry is falling for Al."

Jilly posted: "Really don't fancy seeing slimy Kerry and sleazy Al getting it on."

Lily said: "Please god no not Kerry and Al. I beg. We have had enough with terrible couples this year as it is"

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITV Hub with an additional episode at 8pm on Thursday
