ITV Dancing On Ice viewers lash out at 'unfair' show issue as Ekin Su survives skate off

We are only two weeks in to the programme but already the drama has begun. First there was Ekin Su performing 'that dance', now ITV Dancing On Ice viewers claim to have spotted an "unfair" issue, adding that they are baffled by the move made by the show makers.

Popular presenters, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to front the ITV show on Sunday, January 23. The second batch of celebs pulled on their skates ready to perform their first routines on the second show of the series.

Joining the line-up were The Vivienne, Mollie Gallagher, John Fashanu, Darren Harriott and Carley Stenson. Liverpool Echo wrote that the skaters were bidding to win enough votes to avoid performing in the dance off against Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu.

As skating skills were revealed, it was eventually former Wimbledon striker, John Fashanu who went up against the Love Island star for the skate off after Fashanu got the lowest number of votes. It seems Ekin Su impressed fans with a routine to Ariana Grande as the judges voted for her to stay in the competition.

Holly said she was "gutted" as the former Gladiators host became the first skater to exit this season. Holly Willoughby said: "I'm so gutted to be saying goodbye to you. Chris [Dean] summed it up as he said nobody has improved more since bootcamp than you."

However, viewers following the programme on Twitter pointed out an issue with the programme saying that Ekin Su, alongside her dance partner Brendyn Hatfield, had an additional week to practice the dance off routine. One fan wrote: "Flaw in the system is one pair have a week to rehearse the skate off, while one pair have 10 minutes"

Another viewer said: "The first dance off format on this is so poor because Ekin-Su has had a solid week to come to terms with it, to practice her routine without having a main show skate tonight, meanwhile John Fashanu has had about 4 minutes, and skated tonight. Ridiculous format"

Others joined in the debate saying: "So she has had a WHOLE WEEK to practice while he….well it spoke for itself". Another added: "SO unfair she's had a full week to concentrate on that one skate John had to learn 2 skates in a week".
