ITV Dancing On Ice viewers horrified as show stopped for 'breaking news' announcement

Dancing On Ice viewers were horrified as the show was interrupted with a "breaking news" announcement.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned tonight to host another edition of the greatest show on ice. The celebrities once again donned their skates for a series of Hollywood inspired routines for Movie Week.

Mollie Gallagher is competing on the latest season and the Coronation Street star performed a Ghostbusters inspired dance alongside Sylvain Longchambon. However, viewers were taken aback when the show was suddenly cut off at the start of routine to go to the ITV news studio.

Fans were surprised as this twist actually part of the routine as the news anchor warned of paranormal activities before Mollie and Sylvain took to the ice. However, viewers following the show on Twitter criticised the decision as they were fooled into thinking there had been a breaking news story.

Paul said: "Not sure #dancingonice that the Breaking News segment was in good taste with everything going on"

@kpop_filters_ posted: "I did not like that dance at all… the news interruption wasn’t funny i didn’t think it was funny i thought it was rather rude of them regarding a serious cas"

Karis added: "not me getting scared that was a legit breaking news broadcast"

Chloe said:"funny joke @ITV?? yeh let’s put a breaking news in the middle of the show even though there’s some awful stories in the news atm"

Jenny posted: "Cor did anyone else’s bum go with that “breaking news” before the ghostbusters dance? My first thought was “what now?"
