ITV Dancing On Ice under fire as viewers point out 'off putting' issue with show

Dancing On Ice has come under fire from viewers due to an 'off putting' issue they have found with the show.

The "greatest show on ice" returned to screens on Sunday night with five more celebrities making their skating debut.

But the ITV show was hit with a bit of a wobble after Rachel Stevens was forced to miss her first performance due to injury.

Six of the competition’s 12 couples skated last weekend, with Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt topping the leaderboard.

The episode began with a group dance by the professionals to Higher Power by Coldplay, in which they flew through the air on harnesses.

It was then over to Liberty Poole, Ben Foden, Stef Reid, Connor Ball, and Regan Gascoigne to take to the ice with the professional skating partners.

But the latest trip to the rink ended in a dreaded skate-off for former England rugby player Ben and ITV Lorraine showbiz reporter Ria Hebden.

And it was Ben and partner Robin Johnstone who become the first celebrity contestant to be eliminated from Dancing On Ice after failing the impress the judges and receive enough votes from the public.

The judging panel – Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, and Ashley Banjo – unanimously chose to save Ria and skater Łukasz Różycki.

The episode, however, didn't come without complaints from Dancing On Ice viewers - and it was down to an 'off-putting' detail.

@roseyshaw11 tweeted: "Seriously @itvdancingonice im going to start recording or switch off #DancingOnIce there's more adverts than a show."

"How many adverts? It is so off putting its ridiculous #dancingonice," @misssellotape12 said.

@sadlerfiona21 fumed: "For Christ sake @ITV sort yourself out you don’t need this many adverts #dancingonice."

"Glad to see they’re managing to squeeze in some skating between the adverts #DancingOnIce," @benji70 shared.

@sazzlelala complained: "A good reason not to watch #DancingOnIce is the number of adverts? FFS."
