ITV Dancing On Ice star Bez stuns Holly Willoughby as he reveals secret behind 'madcap' performance

Dancing On Ice fans were delighted as The Happy Mondays dancer Bez swapped his maracas for ice skates for his second side-splitting performance on the ITV show.

During Sunday night's Movie Week special, Bez took to the ice for a whip-cracking skate as Indiana Jones.

Viewers were in hysterics as the Madchester band's 'freaky dancer' and his pro skating partner Angela Egan ran away from a massive rolling boulder and a pile of snakes as part of the creative set.

But another detail as he took on Harrison Ford's iconic role was missed by host Holly Willoughby.

When he pointed out that he was wearing Indiana's famous fedora hat over his crash helmet she was amazed.

"I didn't realise!" she giggled.

And fans found it hilarious.

Viewer @IanBartlett_ tweeted: "#DancingOnIce WHAT, Bez is wearing a helmet under his hat . You got me there."

@TraylorHolmes laughed: "Bez with a crash helmet on under his Indiana Jones hat."

@Lshire_Laird said: "Bez skating in a crash helmet with a mahoosize fedora is peak madcap British TV."

And @helenl_s said: "Go Bez #dancingonice! I’m crying here. Made my weekend watching him and his huge hat concealing a crash helmet underneath. 'Snakes! Go!' Brilliant."

Bez and Angela scored 18 out of a possible 40 from the judges, an improvement on his first performance when they racked up 12.5.

"I can't believe them scores I was aiming for four," he said.

Judge Ashley Banjo said it was like watching a 'mini movie.'

And Olympic skating legends Torville and Dean told him: "You are getting better."

@Pickitflickit said: "Bez for the win!"

And @StefM78 tweeted: "Boredom levels reach an all time low. Watching Dancing on Ice for the first time in years.

"But have to say Bez has just lade me laugh more than I have in months."

Bez has been wearing a crash helmet after he suffered a nasty fall during training for Dancing On Ice, slipping backwards and crashing to the ice so hard his helmet flew off.

He previously revealed how he had never seen the hit ITV show before.
