ITV Dancing on Ice fans hit out at show after breaking news segment

Fans of Dancing on Ice have hit out at the ITV show after being left feeling "anxious" from last night's instalment (February 19). The remaining celebrity skaters and their partners took to the rink once more last night for a Hollywood-themed night, which saw them dance to numbers from some of the biggest films ever made.

Joey Essex and Vanessa Bauer channeled their inner Troy and Gabriella as they skated to Breaking Free from noughties teen hit High School Musical, whilst Carley Stenson and Mark Hanretty dressed up as Jessie and Woody from the Toy Story franchise to dance to You've Got A Friend In Me. After pulling off the perilous headbanger move last week, Mollie Gallagher and Sylvain Longchambon stuck to the scary theme by performing to the Ghostbusters film.

Mollie wore a glittery boilersuit and space buns for the occasion as she danced alongside her professional partner. In past weeks, viewers have criticised the judges for giving Corrie star Mollie and Sylvain a "low" score for their efforts but, last night, took aim at the producers behind the ITV show for an unsettling feature of the pair's routine.

Prior to Mollie and Sylvain taking to the ice, viewers were left taken aback by a sudden breaking news segment, in which regular ITV News presenter Lucrezia Millarini warned those watching of "paranormal activity". What many did not realise at the time is that this was simply part of the routine.

Mollie and Sylvain were awarded 7.5s all around for their spooktacular routine, leaving them with a total of 30 points. Meanwhile, it was time for one of the soap star's fellow celebs to hang up their skates, with comedian Darren Harriott, who confessed he thought he'd have been booted out of the competition in the first week, saying his goodbyes.
