ITV Dancing on Ice fans ask 'are you for real' as Oti Mabuse suffers 'embarrassing' blunder

Dancing on Ice fans were left as unimpressed as Christopher Dean as Oti Mabuse suffered an 'embarrassing' blunder live on the show. The former Strictly Come Dancing star was back on the ice panel on Sunday night (February 5) as the ITV skating show returned to screens.

Oti, who has been a judge of the show for two series, was back alongside Diversity star Ashley Banjo and skating legends Jayne Torvil and Chris as the celebrities and their professional partners faced Dance Week. The remaining couples had to show their best moves in routine from the samba to the waltz whilst also putting their best skate forward on the ice.

But it was Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu who became the third celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing On Ice after an episode of live dance-themed performances. The reality TV star, 28, received the fewest votes and appeared in the dreaded dance-off against actress Patsy Palmer in a bid to make it through to next week’s icons-themed show.

Skating for survival, a visibly upset Ekin-Sue and her partner Brendyn Hatfield danced to Ariana Grande’s No Tears Left To Cry in their second skate-off during their time on the ITV show after trying to impress with their original routine to Car Wash by Dance X Winners, which included a surprising cameo appearance from her boyfriend and fellow Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti, who appeared shirtless on the ice.

However, judge Jayne chose to save Palmer who had a "cleaner performance", alongside Oti and Ashley – who said both women should be proud of their skating performances. Ekin, who revealed she had "pulled a muscle on my left leg" practising the routine before the actual performance, follows Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and ex-footballer John Fashanu who previously exited the show.

But it was earlier in the episode, following Joey Essex's latest performance, that things got awkward on the ice panel between Oti and Chris. The reality star, who has been embroiled in rumours that he is dating his skating co-star Vanessa Bauer, joked after his paso doble performance: "I have actually fallen in love … with ice skating, with paso."

The pair showed off their dramatic side with the routine to Pushin’ On by 2WEI and Marvin Brooks, which earned them a score of 30.5. But as she gave her comments, Oti said: "My favourite bit was the Spanish drag that you did… I’ve never seen that done on ice before." However, Chris crossed his arms and interjected to say: "Did she just say, ‘I’ve never seen that done on ice before’?"

Oti replied: "No I’ve never seen a drag like that," as she did a demonstration. Chris hit back: "She hasn’t watched the Olympics then has she?" before turning to Oti and adding: "That was our move! That’s why he put it in."

While Oti just laughed it off, Dancing on Ice viewers flocked to social media to comment. @MJ_JJ061215 said: "Oti Mabuse are you for real?? Have you never seen Torvill and Dean's Paso routine?? Call yourself an expert... #DancingOnIce."

As if Chris threw Oti under a bus like that #dancingonice." @WhoPotterVian commented: "'That was our move' - Awkward. Something tells me Oti Mabuse will be quickly Googling Torvill and Dean routines on YouTube after this... #DancingOnIce."
