He said: "When you 3 jump on the ice and kick your partner in the shin with the back end of your blade, sorry @vanessabauer_skates".

In the video Vanessa appears to just recover from the kick, landing the jump with a wobble and just about able to keep balance and stay on her feet. Brendan also grabs her to help steady her balance.

This is not the first injury on Dancing on Ice this series with Rachel Stevens fracturing her wrist and unable to compete in the competition and Bez having to wear a crash helmet during his performance after he hit his head.

The dancing star has also already been injured in the competition as he concussed himself on the first day of training and the pair have suffered some nasty falls in training.

Brendan wowed the judges with his most recent routine to Shallow from the film A Star Is Born, scoring 33.5 points out of a possible 40. He was also awarded the first nine of the series.

Dancing on Ice continues on ITV on Sunday, February, 6 at 6pm.
