ITV Corrie star shows off stunning new hair after leaving the soap

She terrified Corrie fans playing bunny boiler Lydia Chambers who targeted Adam Barlow and actress Rebecca Ryan is sporting a fresh new look after leaving the soap. Rebecca, 30, looked glowing on a sunshine break in Alcúdia, Mallorca.

She showcased a new shorter and darker hairstyle on Instagram as she posed for holiday snaps in a bold all-green outfit. "Guess my favourite colour?" she jokingly asked fans. And she looked stunning in a pretty floral summer dress.

"Holiday = consistent content," she wrote and added: "(Don't get used to it)." And her co-star brother Jack James Ryan, who plays reformed bad boy Jacob Hay, teased: "Right, stop making us all jealous now." Rebecca replied to her sibling with 'what can I do?' shrugging emojis.

The compliments came pouring in for Rebecca, whose final scenes as stalker Lydia left viewers gobsmacked. lissy0019 told her "I just love your hair (and you)" marannaryan wrote "stunning xx" and charlottevsp4 commented: "Omg so pretty."

There was plenty of drama on Coronation Street last month as Lydia finally told the truth following her ex Adam Barlow's horror accident that left him at risk of losing his sight. She had been stalking Adam after she befriended his wife Sarah and plotted to wreck their marriage in revenge for how badly the womaniser treated her in their university days.

In a horrifying showdown at a shopping centre Lydia gave Adam a hard shove during a confrontation. And Adam was knocked unconscious after plunging over the railings.

Doctors told his family he had suffered a bleed behind the eye and needed surgery. And as he came round from surgery they were relieved to be told that Sarah had come to visit him after threatening divorce.

But his visitor turned out to be a repentant Lydia, who was there to apologise for her behaviour. After she was caught at Adam's bedside by his estranged wife, Lydia confessed to tormenting Adam, trashing her own flat and setting it up to look like they had been having an affair. And Sarah called the police.

Then came a twist as Adam left his hospital bed and headed to the police station to make sure Lydia was freed. And after putting his legal skills to good use he and Lydia called a truce. But Corrie fans were in disbelief.

Rebecca's brother Jack plays lovestruck teen Jacob, a former drug dealer who has fallen for Amy Barlow. They tried to keep their relationship a secret from her parents Steve and Tracy because Jacob roped her cousin Simon into the drugs gang led by evil Harvey Gaskell.

Rebecca shot to fame playing Debbie Gallagher in the gritty Manchester comedy drama Shameless and went on to play pupil Vicki MacDonald in the Rochdale-based school drama Waterloo Road. She previously revealed the sweet way she made sure she and her brother got to spend some time together on set even though their paths never crossed in storylines.

She said: "We’ve had only very few days where we’ve both been in but every now and again we are. Sometimes if we’re both in I’ll either come in a bit earlier if he’s in, or a bit later and I'll take him home just so we have a bit of time together on the set. It’s great when we’re in at the same time, it’s fantastic!"
