Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has proudly shared about her mum as she posted snaps of the pair on her Instagram. The Corrie actress, who plays Nicky Wheatley in the soap, floored fans as she beamed alongside her mother Gill Simpson at an awards ceremony.
Kimberly paid tribute to Gill as she picked up an award, and fans agreed she looked stunning in a cream strapless top and chic matching trousers. "My Mums is a bad b***h!" she exclaimed in the caption next to the photos.
Kimberly also looked elegant in a black lacy off-the-shoulder dress, which she bought for a bargain £3 from the British Heart Foundation. "Dress £3 guess where from?" she asked fans before tagging the charity.
She said about her mum: "25 years of service to her in a male dominated industry (and the only woman getting the award last night)." And she wrote: "Well done mum. I am proud you from your recovery this past year after your accident to your ability to travel the world alone without fear. My family consist of some powerful, strong and passionate women. Out here to try and do the legacy justice."
emma_roose_32 commented: "Yeahhhhh go on … amazing!! And may I say you both look blooming stunning." mamatomylily.xo told her: "£3!? I need to go to your charity shops, you pick up the best things also your mum looks fabulous."
that_inked_yonner_girl said: "What a legend you both look stunning chick." mowin_nolan exclaimed: "Shes fabulous!" patmike2131 said: "Your heart must explode with love for your mum!" and Kimberly replied: "Yes it does." And stugib1954 told her: "You and mum look fabulous."
Kimberly, who is also a businesswoman and a dab hand as a seamstress, is known for snapping up a good charity shop bargain and reworking and upcycling her finds. She has seen her sustainable brand Hart-Work launched in Urban Outfitters.
She returned to our screens as former sex worker Nicky earlier this year after making her debut in 2020. After leaving for a better life with her daughter Maisie, Nicky returned to the street to get a job as a teaching assistant at the same school as her former love interest Daniel.
The friends first met when, struggling over the death of his wife Sinead, Daniel ended up paying Nicky to wear her clothes. Their close friendship caused a rift between Daniel and his girlfriend Daisy Midgeley.
Then Daniel gave the mother and daughter a place to live after pupil Max Turner leaked photos of her from her past work and she lost her job. When Nicky told Daniel how she really felt and that they'd be good together he let her down gently and revealed that he still had feelings for Daisy.
After moving out of Daniel's flat in May, she was back on the street in July as she bonded with his half brother Peter Barlow. Heading to the police station to pick up a fare taxi driver Peter was surprised to see Nicky had been arrested for no reason. The pair vented their annoyance together and shared a common interest over their contempt for authority trampling over the little man.
